Patrols at the times your site is most exposed
Not every site needs someone there all the time, and a patrol puts an officer on site when it matters, with a written record of what they found.

The trade-off
Between visits, nobody is on site. A patrol suits sites where the risk is low to moderate, or where it is concentrated in particular hours. If the survey suggests a patrol will not be enough, we will say so, and set out what would be.
How we design the rounds
We look at when problems happen and work backwards. Visits can be at fixed times, or varied so the pattern is harder to learn. The number of visits is set in the proposal from the risk at your site, not from a standard package.
What a visit can include
- Walking the perimeter and checking fences, gates, doors and windows
- Internal checks, where you have given us access
- Looking for signs of forced entry, damage, leaks or fire risk
- Checking that alarms are set and lights are working
- Locking up or opening up at agreed times
- Challenging anyone who should not be there, and calling the police when needed
What you receive
- Patrol instructions for your site, agreed before the first visit
- A record of each visit: date, time, what was checked and what was found
- An incident report if anything needs action
- A review of whether the visits are in the right place at the right time
Licensing
Patrolling a site under contract is security guarding, so the person doing it must hold a front line SIA licence. We use only people with the right licence, and we check it on the register before they start. If a patrol also involves holding your keys, the licensing rules on key holding apply too.
Common questions
Is a patrol enough for my site?
It can be, if nobody needs to be present all the time. The survey answers this with your incident history and the layout of the site.
Can a patrol respond to my alarm as well?
That is a separate arrangement, with its own procedure. See key holding and alarm response.
